For a woman having an orgasm isn’t as easy as you might think. The same cannot be said for a man because men can climax without too much difficulty but women just aren’t built that way and it’s a fact that not a lot of people understand. These days, books, films and magazines are full of sex and lead us to believe that girls have a huge sexual appetite and can climax effortlessly. Interestingly enough though, in the past doctors believed that many women, most of the population of women, were in fact unable to reach an orgasm at all. Thankfully, times have changed and there has been much more research into sexual medicine, plus the more open and permissive society that we now live in has changed many peoples perception of this. As it isn’t necessary for a woman to climax in order to get pregnant then it also meant that it wasn’t viewed as being too important.
These days we now know that virtually all women can climax and given the right circumstances can in fact have multiple orgasms but it does require that her partner has an understanding of what she likes. This allows for a more relaxed experience and this leads to better sex.
A lot of young women, girls in their teens worry about their inability to orgasm, especially as their male counterparts have no problem at all. Most young women have to literally learn how to orgasm. Research suggests that most girls do not climax until they are months, even years into their sexual experience, and when they do orgasms for the first time it is mostly through masturbation and not through sex with a partner. On average a girls first orgasm is around the age of 18 but through surveys it is understood that some women can actually be in their 40’s before their first climax.
Most sex therapists these days suggest that if a woman is unable to reach a climax during sexual intercourse then the best way to over come this is to learn what gives her pleasure through masturbation and then take this into having sex with a partner. It can be quite uncomfortable to tell her partner what to do but once the embarrassment has passed then at least her partner will have an idea as to what to do in future.
